Phuket Jobs

Phuket jobs are much sought after by foreigners wishing to work and live in Phuket.

One of the biggest problems that people face is that there is not a lot of information available as to where the best places are to find Phuket jobs that are available for foreigners.

Many of the popular Phuket forums and Thailand forums have long term expats as members and most of these people will never help a newcomer in finding Phuket jobs and most of then inform people that it is impossible to find any available Phuket jobs for foreigners.

Why these people act like this is a mistery to me and the only idea I have is that they do not wish more people to move down to Phuket as it will make it harder for themselves to find Phuket jobs in the future.

I would like to tell all of you that dream off living and working in Phuket that it is possible and that there are plenty of available Phuket jobs to be found.

There are of course a number of points which people should take into consideration when considering to move to Phuket and to look for Phuket jobs.

Phuket is a relative small island and the type of work that foreigners can do in Thailand is somewhat limited. Certain professions can only be performed by Thai nationals so it is possible that you will have to look for Phuket jobs that do not involve what ever you were doing back home.

Phuket is a big tourist attraction and there are always plenty of available Phuket jobs that involve managerial work in Phuket hotels and travel and tour companies. It is difficult to be considered for these type of Phuket jobs if you have no relevant experience however it is still possible.

A number of online travel companies based in Phuket are often hiring foreigners that have certain language skils so as to help in reservations or customer service. The same applies in certain hotels and resorts such as the Laguna hotels.

There are also many available Phuket jobs that involve teaching English or other languages at one of the Phuket language schools. It is rather easy to get certified to be a language teacher in Phuket so that it always one option you have.

The Phuket real estate market is booming and many new developments are being build and many of the Phuket real estate developers are hiring foreigners for sales activities. I have seen a number of friends end up doing this line of work without any prior experience.

• The Phuket Gazette (printed and online) - The largest Phuket English language newspaper has a classified section where many new jobs are posted frequently.
• The Bangkok Post (printed and online) - The largest English language Thai newspaper and frequently Phuket jobs are posted in their jobs section.
• The Nation (printed and online) The second largest English language Thai newspaper which also often has Phuket jobs in the jobs section of their paper
• Phuket.Net - This Phuket portal has a classifieds section where frequently newly available Phuket jobs are posted
• Phuketall.com - This big Phuket based website has a very active Phuket jobs board.
• Ehotelier - The worlds biggest hotelier website has an extremely active job section where frequently new Phuket jobs involving the hotel industry are posted.
