The Dutch Inn Patong
The Dutch Inn Patong has become increasingly popular ever since it opened a few years ago after the current Dutch owner took it over from a Belgium guy and he quickly renamed it the Dutch Inn Patong. It is hard to describe the Dutch Inn Patong but I would probably call it a typical Dutch “feest café”. I don’t personally visit this Dutch bar in Patong very often as I have other Dutch establishments which I normally visit however during football games for example the Dutch expat community of Patong beach normally meets up at the Dutch Inn Patong to watch the football games live on one of the large televisions.
I always try to be very honest about the hotel, guesthouses, bar and restaurants reviews which I write for this handy online Phuket travel guide so I must also state some points which I do not like about the Dutch Inn Patong. The prices for especially the food is a bit on the expensive side especially when compared to Bo’s Beach Bar or Andre’s Baan Tip Top which is one of the reasons why the Dutch Inn Patong is more frequented by Dutch tourists as opposed to Dutch expats living in Patong beach. Another somewhat negative thing about the Dutch Inn Patong in the past has been that it could end up getting very noisy with drunken bar girls and very loud music which is something which I personally don’t really enjoy.
However there are also several positive things which I would like to mention about the Dutch Inn in Patong beach. They are one of the only Dutch establishments where they often play Dutch music which is very nice for those Dutch expats who are a bit homesick. The Dutch owner and his Thai girlfriend are excellent hosts and ensure that every guest is made to feel right at home at this Dutch bar in Patong beach.
If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay which is located right next to Bangla Road then perhaps you should consider booking one of the three rooms which the Dutch Inn Patong has to offer. Room rates start at only 500 Thai Baht per room per night during the low season and the cheapest room type only costs 900 Thai Baht per room per night during the Phuket tourist peak season.
The Dutch Inn Patong is located in a little side street which is located within stone’s throw from the famous Bangla Road. Soi Bangla Square is roughly opposite Bangla Road from the Tiger Disco complex and the Bangla Ocean Plaza. For those guys who are planning to do a lot of clubbing and bar hopping the Dutch Inn Patong is perfect when it comes to centrally located budget holiday accommodation in Patong.
