Finally there is a Phuket water park and this water park in Phuket is called the Splash Jungle Phuket. For so many years tourists and travelers have been complaining about the fact that there are very few family friendly attractions in Phuket so the opening of the Splash Jungle Phuket is great news for the Phuket tourist industry.

When I first moved to Phuket nearly a decade ago there was already talk of a Phuket water park opening but that one was planning right in the center of Patong roughly in the spot in which the Phuket Jungceylon shopping mall is now standing. The Australian developer had obtained a large piece of land however due to various problems and concerns the construction on this Phuket water park never started.

So a lot of people in Phuket were thrilled when it became known that finally a water park was being built in Phuket. The Splash Jungle Phuket is located right next door to the West Sands Phuket which is a luxurious resort and residential complex. If I am not mistaken, the Splash Jungle Phuket Water Park is actually under the same ownership at the West Sands Phuket.

It is said that the Splash Jungle Phuket Water Park is the largest of its kind in all of Thailand and I am fairly certain that it is one of the largest in the entire region. It is clear that the Splash Jungle Phuket was built by a company who has a lot of experience in water parks and it is also very clear that a lot of money was invested into this water park in Phuket. I found out through some contacts at this Phuket attraction that the total investment has run into the tens of millions of dollars and that the Splash Jungle Phuket Water Park was designed and built by one of the leading water park developers from the United States.

The official opening of the Phuket Splash Jungle Water Park was in January of this year and it has seen a limited amount of success. The Phuket Water Park at the West Sands Resort is open daily from 10:00 until 18:00. I did have the opportunity a short while ago to visit the Splash Jungle Phuket water park for a site inspection. I was impressed by the large number of slides and the overall facilities but I was a bit disappointed by the relatively small number of visitors to this water park in Phuket but there are some reasons for this and I will give you my opinion in regards to this matter.

The location of this Phuket water park is one point of concern as the Splash Jungle Water Park is located in the Mai Khao beach area of Phuket which is just North of the Phuket Laguna area. It is ideal for customers staying in that Phuket resort area but it is a rather long drive for tourists staying in Patong beach, Karon beach, Kamala beach and Kata beach.

The other point of concern with this Phuket water park is the fact that prices are a bit steep especially when you consider it is located in Thailand. Perhaps if the Splash Jungle Water Park was located in the US or Europe then prices would be deemed affordable, but not really for Phuket price standards.
