Most of the Phuket guesthouses which we have reviewed in our handy online Phuket travel guide have been location in Patong beach so I thought it was about time to review a great Phuket guesthouse which is located in another one of the Phuket beach areas. The Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket is one of my favorite guesthouses in Kata beach and I have often recommended the Sorrento Guesthouse Kata beach to budget travelers who asked me for recommendations for affordable holiday accommodation in Kata beach. I would like to point out that the Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket is also known as Sorrento Apartment Kata Beach.

The Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket is a relatively small Kata beach guesthouse which only offers 10 clean and comfortable guest rooms to travelers and tourists. The room rates at this guesthouse in Kata are very affordable with rooms costing only 500 Thai Baht during the Phuket tourist low season and 1000 Thai Baht during the Phuket tourist high season. You can forget about finding a bargain like this in one of the regular Kata hotels or resorts. This is one of the main reasons why many of the guesthouses on Phuket have been able to survive during these financially difficult times. Many of the Phuket guesthouses including the Phuket Sorrento Guesthouse offer rooms which are similar to those found in regular Phuket resorts and hotels however the main difference is that guesthouses normally don’t offer facilities such as gyms and swimming pools. Many tourists have however realized that they don’t facilities like that as they will be enjoying most of the day at the beach or going diving for example.

As I mentioned, there are 10 clean and comfortable guest rooms available at the Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket. They are exactly what a budget traveler would hope for but please don’t expect anything really fancy as you would in a 4 or 5 star Phuket hotel. The rooms do have facilities and amenities such as international television programming, an in room safe and air-conditioning. Please note that three of the rooms at the Sorrento Guesthouse in Kata beach do have a balcony which offers a side view of the Andaman Sea. So if you are interested in staying in that type of room then please be sure to mention it at the time of reservation.

The location of the Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket is excellent as this Kata guesthouse is located only a short walk from the white sandy beaches of Kata. The area in which the Sorrento Apartment Kata beach is located is filled with hotels, bars and restaurants so guests will always have plenty of places to explore and visit. This is one of the reasons why this is one of my favorite Kata beach guesthouses. Guests staying at Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket will certainly not need a car or motorbike if they don’t feel like it.

The Sorrento Guesthouse Phuket is owned by a very nice Italian chap and it should therefore come as no surprise that there is a very nice Italian restaurant located on the ground floor of this guesthouse in Kata beach. The Restaurant Pizzeria Sorrento is a very affordable Kata beach Italian restaurant and it serves some of the best pizzas on Phuket. There is also a nice Thai menu available for those of you with Thai girlfriends or Thai wives.
