The Skipper’s Phuket bar and restaurant is located in the Royal Phuket Marina which is on the east coast of Phuket Island. Skippers Phuket only opened recently however it has quickly become a popular venue for jet setters, wealthy Phuket expats and yacht owners. Once you enter this lovely Phuket sports bar and restaurant, then you simply don’t feel as if you are still on Phuket or even in Thailand. You would expect to find a classy bar like Skipper’s somewhere in Singapore or perhaps in Palm Beach but not really on this Thai island. It is therefore definitely a welcome addition to the restaurant and bar scene of Phuket. Guests of Skippers Phuket enjoy wonderful views of the Marina and all its ships and yachts.

You can rest assured that the food served at Skippers Phuket is of the highest quality. The chef de cuisine is Khun Somneuk Suthiprapa. This head chef is an extremely talented Thai chef who always uses the finest and freshest ingredient in her kitchen. Many of the Phuket restaurants stick to the same menu year in year out however this is definitely not the case at the Phuket Skipper’s bar and restaurant. The menu is always changing and daily specials can often be ordered. The menu at Phuket Skippers consists of both Oriental dishes as well as European dishes.

One of the things which I really like about this restaurant and bar at the Royal Phuket Marina, is the fact that the restaurant and bar are in fact one venue. This means that you can enjoy a great meal or simply a cold beer whilst enjoying a live sports game on one of the giant 120 inch video screens. There are also other activities which clients can enjoy at Skippers Phuket and this includes pub quizzes and live music.

I would primarily recommend the Skippers Phuket to local expat residents as this great venue is not located in a major tourist destination. The exception might be for those visitors who come by boat and more their boat at the Royal Phuket Marina. There are also plenty of houses and apartments at this Phuket marina so Skippers Phuket is ideal for those residents.
