There is hardly a place on Phuket which you can visit and where you will not come across an Italian restaurant or pizzeria. A lot of these Italian restaurants on Phuket come and go however one of the longest running Phuket Italian restaurants and certainly one of the best Italian restaurants on Phuket is Salvatore's Phuket. It is especially rare to find an Italian restaurant on Phuket which has won culinary awards with the exception of this outstanding Phuket restaurant. As the Salvatore’s Restaurant Phuket is located in Phuket Town, many travelers and tourists are not aware of the existence of this wonderful restaurant which really is a shame. Most of the guests enjoy a fabulous Italian meal at Salvatore’s restaurant in Phuket City are local Thai residents as well as Phuket expats.

One of the main reasons behind the success of Salvatore’s Phuket is the owner. Only too often have I seen so called Italian restaurants which had no Italian chef or Italian owner and you simply should not call it an Italian restaurant then. The owner and executive chef of Salvatore’s Phuket restaurant is a very nice Italian guy from Sardinia. If you do get the opportunity to meet Salvatore Cossu then you will immediately know that it’s him as he certainly looks like a chef from Italy. Chef Salvatore has extensive culinary experience from Italy and is should therefore come as no surprise that his Italian restaurant in Phuket Town has been such a great success among local Thai residents and Phuket expats.

A lot of the new restaurants opening on Phuket tend to be very modern and hip which is why it is rather nice for a chance to see a restaurant which has more of a rustic feel to it. You can’t help but to fall in love with the Phuket Salvatore’s Italian restaurant and its warm and southern European ambience.

If you are looking for a great Phuket pizza restaurant then I would like to point out that you should not be visiting Salvatore’s Phuket as pizza is the one Italian dish that this Phuket Italian restaurant does not offer on its menu. There are however plenty of other delicious Italian dishes on the menu and one of my favorite dishes at Salvatore’s Phuket Italian restaurant is the outstanding Red Tagliatelle with Fondue and Beluga Caviar. The Phuket Salvatore’s Italian Restaurant has also a very impressive offering of over 60 different Italian wines. And no visit to an Italian restaurant can possibly be complete without having a nice espresso after dinner and Salvatore’s Phuket serves only the excellent Illy coffee brand.

Please note that Salvatore’s Italian Restaurant in Phuket City is closed on Monday. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 until 14:30 and from 18:30 until 23:00. I did make the mistake several times to go to Salvatore’s without a reservation and I was turned away as all the tables were occupied. So please do be sure to make a reservation if you are planning to visit this outstanding Phuket restaurant in the evening. It should not be a problem if you are planning to have lunch at the Salvatore’s Phuket restaurant.
