It is not easy to surprise me when it comes to the Phuket culinary scene as I have visited most of the restaurants on the island of Phuket. As I have often written in this handy online Phuket travel guide, food from around the world can be found served in the hundreds if not thousands of restaurants on Phuket. However one type of cuisine which I had yet to try on Phuket was Turkish cuisine. I was recently invited to the Roxy Bar Phuket in Phuket City which I had never heard about and very much to my surprise they served Turkish food! If anywhere, I would have expected to find a new Turkish restaurant in Patong beach perhaps but definitely not in Phuket Town, the capital city of the island of Phuket. Additionally I would have not expected to find such as hip and trendy venue serving Turkish cuisine which is something which the Roxy Bar Phuket definitely is.

The Roxy Bar Phuket was actually started not too long ago by two brothers from Turkey. Nuno and Josh, the Turkish owners of the Roxy Bar Phuket, are outstanding restaurateurs and wonderful hosts. I would however like to point out to my readers that the Roxy Bar Phuket offers more than only Turkish food and that the Phuket Roxy Bar in Phuket Town is in fact more than only a restaurant. Special events and parties are for example frequently organized and are often attended by Phuket town expats and even the hip and trendy local Thai customers. There was for example a special Halloween night organized at the Roxy Bar Phuket and this event was one of the best Halloween parties found anywhere on Phuket Island.

After having visited the Roxy Bar Phuket myself, I can fully understand why the Roxy Bar in Phuket City has become one if the hotspots of Phuket. This Phuket Turkish restaurant served outstanding Turkish dishes which are equally as good as the Turkish food which I enjoyed during my extensive travels throughout Turkey a few years back. However I would like to point out that the chef of the Roxy Bar Phuket offers more than only Turkish food. The menu of this Phuket town restaurant also offers some really great Mexican dishes and which I also sampled. These Mexican dishes were delicious! The menu of the Phuket Roxy Bar also includes some Thai dishes as well as many Western dishes.

Some of the Phuket expats whom I talked to at the Roxy Bar Phuket told me that this venue has become their favorite watering hole in town and that they visit the Roxy Bar Phuket simply for a beer, watch the football or play a game of pool. There is a full sized pool table available at this Phuket town restaurant and diners are free to use it at any time.
