Rawai Beach
Along Rawai beach you will find many great little restaurants and other types of small businesses and many local residents spend their afternoon or evening at one of the Rawai beach seafood restaurants.
Rawai
Many travelers will only have heard of Rawai beach because they went on a day tour to Coral island or one of the other smaller islands. The speed boats that leave to these Thai islands generally depart from Rawai. Some Phuket dive outfits also have their boats moored along the beach of Rawai.
Although there are a few Rawai beach hotels, we do not really recommend for anyone to stay at Rawai beach as there simply are not enough Rawai attractions and other facilities for travelers. Rawai however is ideal for local Phuket Expat residents as there is plenty of affordable housing found in this area of Phuket.
The Phuket guide does recommend for you to visit Rawai beach during your stay on Phuket as it really is a great little Phuket beach area where you can chill out and enjoy some of the best seafood that Phuket has to offer. The easiest way to visit Rawai beach is if you would hire a car from a Phuket car rental company.
Rawai Beach Attractions
There are a few Rawai beach attractions which you might be interested in. The leading Phuket Muay Thai school is located in the Rawai beach area and there is also an elephant trekking outfit in Rawai. If you want to rent a long tail boat to go and explore the coastline and the Andaman sea then there are plenty of places in Rawai beach where you can hire a longtail boat.
Rawai Beach Hotels
There are only a very few Rawai beach hotels including a number of rather luxurious Rawai beach resorts. However as Rawai beach is really not very well suited for tourism, travelers should try to stay at another Phuket beach area such as Karon beach, Kata Beach, Patong Beach or Kamala beach. Average prices for Rawai beach hotels are somewhat inexpensive when compared to Phuket resorts and hotels located in other areas of the island.
Rawai Beach Bars
There are a number of really nice Rawai beach bars including several wonderful Rawai beer bars. However please do not expect the Rawai beach nightlife to be in any way similar to that found in Patong or Karon.
Rawai Beach Restaurants
The major attraction point for most people visiting Rawai beach are in fact the excellent selection of Rawai beach restaurants which are located directly along the water. Rawai beach is considered by local Thai residents to be the best place on Phuket for eating fresh seafood.
