Wat Prathong – One of the biggest Phuket temples is Wat Prathong which is located in the Thalang area of Phuket. Wat Suwan Khiri Khet – If you are staying in the Kata or Karon area of Phuket during your vacation then you simply must plan a visit to this Phuket temple which is nearly 115 years old. Wat Phranang Sang – This Phuket temple is the oldest temple on the island and it was build nearly five hundred and fifty years ago. What makes a visit to this temple in Thalang so special is that you can view some very old Buddhist statues and images. Phuket is known for its tin mining in the past and it is therefore very nice to see that many of the Buddhist statues at this Phuket temple are made out of tin. .
