The Phuket Oldtown Hostel is a relatively small but very modern and comfortable Phuket City guesthouse which offers 12 guest rooms to tourists and backpackers. Please note however that if you are looking for a fancy guesthouse then perhaps you should look elsewhere at the Phuket Oldtown Hostel offers basic but very clean and modern holiday accommodation. I would however like to point out that the Phuket Old Town Hostel does offer a wide range of facilities which many other Phuket hostels do not offer and which will be described in more detail later on in this Phuket hotel review.
Most of the travelers and tourists that visit Phuket do so as they want to have a nice beach holiday. Phuket is certainly ideal for this as it is blessed with some of the finest beaches found anywhere in Asia. However there are also travelers that visit Thailand as they want to explore its culture and history. If you fall into that category then I would definitely suggest for you to book accommodation in Phuket town. The Phuket Oldtown Hostel is ideal for this as it is situated in the old part of town and there are many interesting attractions located nearby to this budget Phuket hostel including a number of beautiful Buddhist temples. The main bus terminal of Phuket Town is located for example only 1000 meters away and the main shopping areas of Phuket City are also located within easy walking distance of the Phuket Oldtown Hostel.
Obviously one of the main reasons why this hostel in Phuket City is so popular is because they offer very affordable room rates. The Oldtown Phuket hostel only charges one type of room rate throughout the year and does not charge room rates according to the tourist season as can be found with Patong guesthouses or hotels in other parts of the island. There are two different room types available at the Phuket Oldtown hotel and they include fan rooms and air-conditioned rooms. You can book a fan room for only 450 Thai Baht per room per night and an air-conditioned room for only 550 Thai Baht per room per night. Please note that there is a free breakfast included in this price.
There are some really nice facilities and public areas which travelers and tourists can use and many backpackers make new friends for example in the living room or in one of the other shared areas of this Phuket hostel. If you want to prepare your own meals then please note that there is a public kitchen and dining area which hostel guests are more than welcome to use. There is also a small library at the Phuket Oldtown Hostel where you borrow books, magazines and newspapers. There is also free high speed wireless internet throughout this Phuket town hostel for those of you who would like to surf the web.
