Phuket Currency Exchange

If you are planning your holiday in Phuket then I would suggest that you also think about currency exchange as you will need to exchange your money in Thai Baht at some point in time. Obviously one possibility is changing your money into Thai Baht in your home country but I would actually advise against this and I would advise you to use a Phuket currency exchange instead. The reason for this is because the exchange rates which are offered to you are generally much better in Thailand thus allowing you to get more Thai Baht for your local currency.

So once you arrive in Phuket you will have various Phuket currency exchange options available to you. At the Phuket International Airport arrival hall there are various money exchange booths where you can change your Pounds, Dollars or Euros into Thai Baht. Although the exchange rates which you will get at those Phuket currency exchange booths is fairly good, you can actually get better exchange rates at banks in one of the Phuket resort towns such as Patong Beach or Kata Beach. So my advice to you would be if at all possible to wait with exchanging your foreign currency into Thai Baht until after you check into your hotel or resort.

Please note however that you should never exchange money at your Phuket hotel or resort as they offer really poor exchange rates. Simply check into your hotel or resort and once you are freshened up, go for a walk and you will certainly find a branch of one of the Thai banks and this is where you should exchange money in Phuket.

If you have any Thai money left and your holiday is about to finish then I would recommend for you also to exchange your remaining Thai Baht back into your own currency at one of the Phuket currency exchange booths rather than changing the money back in your home country for the obvious reason that the exchange rates in Phuket are better than what your local banks will offer to you.
