One of my favorite pubs on Phuket is the excellent Phuket British Pub which is also known as the Zasa’s Manchester Arms. This great British Pub is located in Patong and many British expats living in Patong consider this to be their home away from home. The Phuket British Pub is not a very large pub but is certainly offers a very warm and friendly atmosphere and is the type of venue where you can sit with mates having a wonderful time for many hours. The Manchester Arms Phuket is not only a Patong British Pub but also somewhat of a restaurant as it has an outstanding food menu which consists of both excellent Thai dishes as well as many popular British pub grub style dishes such as Sheppard’s Pie.

As I have mentioned repeatedly in the Phuket guide is that any owner of a bar, pub or restaurant on Phuket plays an integrant role in its failure or success. The owner needs to be friendly, helpful and outgoing and this is certainly the case with the two owners of the Phuket British Pub. The Patong Manchester Arms is owned Trev who is from Manchester and the other owner is Zasa who is a very friendly and charming lady from the North East of Thailand. Zasa’s Manchester Arms is more of a pub then it is a bar. Most of the establishments in Patong beach have bar girls working for them but this is not the case with the Manchester Arms in Patong. This is one of the reasons why you will find many couples and families enjoying a bite to eat or a pint of lager. The Phuket British Pub is ideally located directly across the street from the entrance of the Patong Jungceylon shopping mall. There are plenty of taxis and Tuk Tuk’s available right outside of the Phuket British Pub so you won’t have any difficulties in getting back to your home or hotel.

As I mentioned earlier, the Phuket Manchester Arms is not a very large pub so you won’t find pool tables or live bands there. However you can watch live sports at the British Pub Phuket on one of several large television screens. The Zasa’s Manchester Arms frequently also organized special parties and events including for example all you can eat barbeque nights or wonderful roast dinners which are popular among especially the local Patong English expat crowd.
