Beaches in Phuket - the place to be

Phuket, located south of Bangkok, is a Thai tropical island and famous for holidays and also known as the Pearl of the South. It is considered as one of the finest travel destinations in the universe. Phuket has a lot of world famous beaches lined with beautiful palm and coconut trees; limestone beaches, sandy white beaches and of course the tropical forests attract hundreds of tourists across the globe round the year.

Phuket’s beaches are always crowded by flocks of tourists. Beaches are lined up by many sun loungers; jet skis, parasail and banana boats keep the water busy. As a matter of fact, a lot of people are annoyed with the crowd and complain that the beaches have lost all their charm and are no longer an island getaway destination where they can relax.

The majority of the tourists stay in hotels closest to the beach in Phuket during their vacation. These people need to spend more time in exploring Phuket because there are almost more than 40 amazing beaches around Phuket.

If you are in Phulet, you can simply rent a bike or a jeep and drive down to the coastline. You will surely see many beautiful and deserted beaches around. Beaches like Surin, Nai and Bang Tao have stunning hotels and restaurants with good holiday facilities and are hardly. If you want to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy peace, then you can travel to the beaches in the north of Phuket which is usually quiet and free of crowds.

As mentioned, Phuket has a lot of beaches but a lot of them are yet to be discovered. Here is the list of some of the known beaches in Phuket:

Ø Surin beach has some good restaurants which offer excellent and reasonable seafood for everyone to get their hands on. Majority of the entertainment and business places are situated in Patong beach making it the busiest of all the beaches in Phuket. Tourists can party all night long until dawn and relax in the beach resorts.

Ø Bang Tao is a beautiful beach with excellent 5 star hotels and is located near Phuket Laguna Complex.

Ø Kamala beach offers a peaceful surrounding with good resorts and hotels; known as one of the most popular beaches and is located close to the Patong beach.

Ø Just located south of patong is the Karon beach which offers countless resorts. Most tourists prefer this beach as it is quiet and peaceful.

Ø There are some secret beaches which are not even known to lots of Phuket’s residents, such as the Paradise beach. This beach has many overhanging trees and sun loungers. Due to the rocky seabed, people are not preferred to bathe in this beach but they can enjoy some excellent snorkeling.

Ø Freedom beach has not been yet discovered by many and one can only reach it by a boat. Couple of good restaurants and sun loungers can be seen. The beach is always clean as most of the locals take good care of it.

Ø Banana Beach is the northern half of Phuket. This beach is good for swimming and snorkeling. There are only a handful of tourists at this beach, so if you are seeking a quiet place then Banana beach is your choice.

November to February is the best time for tourists to plan a visit to Phuket. The temperature during these months is moderate and you can enjoy the clear blue sky, fresh breeze and the crystal blue water. Visitors can choose a wide range of accommodations. So if you ever get a chance to visit Phuket, do not miss it.
