A new hotel in Patong which recently caught my eye was the Patong Voyage Place. I was driving by this Patong lodging establishment and I noticed the modern and very attractive exterior of the building and I decided to have a closer look at what the Patong Voyage Place has on offer for travelers and tourists. As my dedicated readers know, I am always very pleased whenever I can add a review of any unusual or good value for money hotels, resorts of guesthouses to this handy online Phuket travel guide as is the case with this Patong Voyage Place review.

The Patong Voyage Place is rather new as it only opened this year. As I have often mentioned, I believe that any traveler or tourists traveling to Phuket should try to book accommodation at a new hotel, resort or guesthouse as the prices in the beginning tend to be rather low as the new establishment struggles to fill up with guests. Another reason why I would recommend travelers and tourists to book a room at a venue such as the Patong Voyage Place is because the facilities and the resort of the building will generally be in excellent shape. Unfortunately this is not always the case with some of the older guesthouses, hotels and resorts in Patong beach as some of the owners of these establishments spend little money on refurbishments and renovations. Mind you that this is rather the exception then in general however if you are planning to spend a week or so at a hotel, resort or guesthouse then you should try to avoid any venue which has maintenance issues or other types of problems.

The Patong Voyage Place is currently marketing itself as being a 2 – 3 star Patong hotel which is mainly due to the fact that they lack a lot of the facilities which many of the hotels offer such as a swimming pool or a restaurant. However when you think of a 2 star hotel then you will probably not have a very positive picture of the place in question which is why I think that the Patong Voyage Place should market itself as being a boutique or luxury guesthouse. Even though the Patong Voyage Place in Patong beach might not have a swimming pool on offer, you can find little to complain about its rooms as they are very nicely designed, furnished and decorated and are easily on par with some of the 4 star hotels in Patong beach.

As I mentioned before, I first noticed the Patong Voyage Place is because of the modern and trendy exterior of this affordable hotel in Patong beach. When I entered this Patong lodging establishment I was even more impressed by the hip and trendy interior of the Patong Voyage Place. The reception area of this inexpensive Patong beach hotel has nice local paintings hanging on the wall and the owner has done a great job in picked the right furniture. If I was to classify the Patong Voyage Place as a boutique guesthouse then I would say that this Patong boutique guesthouse is a rather large establishment as it offers 46 well appointed and spacious guestrooms to travelers and tourists. Forty two of these guest rooms are superior rooms and 4 of the rooms are deluxe rooms.

I would also like to point out that I can only say very positive things about the staff of the Patong Voyage Place. Each of the staff members to whom I spoke was extremely friendly, helpful and all spoke a very good level of English.

When I recently visited the Patong Voyage Place I did have a quick peek at various guest rooms at this Patong hotel and I definitely liked what I saw. The rooms have a very airy and bright feel to them and they have been very nicely furnished. The sizes of the guest rooms at the Patong Voyage Place hotel in Patong beach range between 25 to 30 square meters. Each of the guest rooms of this luxury Patong guesthouse comes equipped for example with air-conditioning, private balcony, international television programming, high speed wireless internet, fully stocked mini bar and direct dial telephone.

In terms of facilities there is nothing much to report as there is no restaurant, pool, spa or gym for example at the Patong Voyage Place in Patong beach. There is a lift however which is great as many of the hotels, resorts and guesthouses on Phuket do not have a lift which can be rather unpleasant especially if you have trouble walking steps or had a few beers too many during a night out in town.

The Patong Voyage Place guesthouse is located in an area of Patong which even though it is located rather central was not very much developed in terms of hotels and guesthouse until only a year or two ago. The Patong Voyage Place is located along Soi Sai Nam Yen with the Patong police station being just across the street and the Patong hospital being just down the road. There are many small restaurants and even some really nice bars which are located in the direct vicinity of the Patong Voyage Place. The white sandy beach of Patong is probably a good 5 to 10 minute walk away as is the Patong Jungceylon shopping mall and the infamous Patong Bangla Road with all its discos, bars and clubs. In case anyone might be interested, the gay nightlife center of Phuket is also located within easy walking distance of the Patong Voyage Place.

Room rates are rather attractive and especially during the low season you should be able to bargain with the reservation staff and receive great discounts and specials. The cost of a guestroom during the low season should be around 1000 Thai Baht per room per night and about 1500 Thai Baht per room per night during the Phuket tourist high season.
