Patong Beach Location
Patong beach is located on the west coast of Phuket and the drive to Patong from the Phuket International Airport will take about 45 minutes depending on which method of Phuket Airport transfer you select.
Located just north of Patong beach is Kamala beach and located just south of Patong are the other popular Phuket resort areas of Kata beach and Karon beach. If you drive east bound on the road which takes you over the legendary Patong hill then you will end up in Kathu. Please be careful you are leaving Patong beach and are using this road as many accidents happen on this busy road and especially when it rains. The surface of this road is very slippery and many drivers loose controll over their cars, busses, motorbikes and trucks.
Patong Beach Activities
Around a decade ago, Patong beach was primarily the travel destination of choice for single male travelers due to the legendary Phuket nightlife and the many Patong beer bars. Patong has however changed as a travel destination as more and more family orientated businesses and activities have sprung up.
Some off these excellent Phuket beach activities include shopping at the Patong Jungceylon shopping mall, visiting a show as the Phuket Simon Cabaret show or exploring the ever so popular Patong nightlife.
Patong Hotels
There is a wide selection of Patong hotels from which travelers can select. There are Patong hotels in all ratings, price categories and there will certainly be a Patong beach hotel of your liking. Patong Nightlife
Patong is the center for all nightlife activities on Phuket. The Patong nightlife has attracted millions of travelers over the years and there are hundreds of great Patong bars. The most famous Patong nightlife venues are of course the hundreds Phuket beer bars filled with thousands of Patong girls which are primarily located in the Soi Bangla area.
Patong Shopping
If you enjoy shopping then you should certainly stay in Patong beach during your vacation on the island. The largest and most popular Patong shopping venues include the Patong Jungceylon shopping mall, the Ocean Plaza mall on Soi Bangla, the Ocean Plaza Mall on the Patong beach road and the OTOP market which is located along the Rat-U-Thit road.
There are of course hundreds of smaller shops which include Patong tailor shops, shops selling the latest counterfeit brand products and the most current DVD movies and software products.
