Panwa Beach
Panwa Beach – a quiet yet scenic place in Phuket
Panwa Beach which is also called Khao Khat Beach and is located about eight kilometers east of Phuket Town covering the west coast of Cape Panwa. Tranquility and serene beauty are what you will get at Panwa Beach. Massive urbanization in adjacent areas has virtually no influence on the serenity of the beach and therefore the beach remains to be an excellent spot for relaxing from the meddling crowd.
The beach facing south west was named after a neighboring Muslim village. To reach Panwa Beach you need to drive along the Sakadit Road from Phuket Town. At the third traffic signal take to the right till you reach the roundabout from where you again take a left turn. As you travel about a kilometer you shall get the beach’s view. To enter the beach area, you should continue further until you see the signpost of Beach Bar.
Panwa Beach gives you mesmerizing views of the sea and it overlooks the beautiful Chalong Bay and Koh Lone (Loan Island). The beach is clean but the sand is rather rough. Do not expect good swimming spots at Panwa. They are rare.
Luxury villas and condominiums are available around Panwa Beach area. Novotel Panwa Beach Resort is the only high-class resort (with modern tourist facilities and amenities) at the beach. However, you can find long tail boats for hire which you can use for your short trip to Koh Lone. A hotel named “By the Sea” is also nearby.
Given the remote location of Panwa Beach, eating options are quite satisfactory. The Beach Bar gives you snacks and drinks. For regular meals, you need to walk up to Novotel’s restaurants or other few restaurants nearby.
With better living and dining options and tranquil beach environment, your trip to Panwa Beach would definitely compensate the lack of beach facilities..
