The Oriental Spoon restaurant is located at the fashionable Twin Palms Resort in the Surin Beach area of Phuket. As some of our more loyal Phuket guide visitors will know, I normally not add reviews of restaurants which are part of a resort or hotel as I have the opinion that most hotel and resort restaurants are somewhat generic and all look the same. There are fortunately exceptions to that rule and the Oriental Spoon Phuket restaurant is one of them.

The management of this rather high end Phuket restaurant markets their venue as being Phuket Most Fashionable Restaurant and Oyster Bar and they should keep in mind that this creates a very high level of expectations so I wasn’t quite suite what to expect when I recently decided to take my family to the Oriental Spoon in Surin Beach.

I heard from some friends that the Oriental Spoon Phuket had a great Sunday brunch so I was very eager to visit this restaurant at the Twin Palms Phuket restaurant for that. When we still used to live in Europe we often went for a rather wonderful Sunday brunch and even in Bangkok one can find some really nice Sunday brunches but unfortunately there aren’t all that many good Sunday brunches in Phuket which is why I was pleased to discover about the Sunday brunch at the Oriental Spoon at Surin Beach.

There are different Sunday brunch packages which you can take. The one which only includes food costs 990 Thai Baht per person. The package next up would be the one which includes one bottle of wine per couple and the price for that Sunday brunch package costs 1290 Thai Baht per person. If you really want to go all out then I would suggest for you to choose the champagne package which includes food, one bottle of champagne per couple and costs 3290 Thai Baht per person.

Obviously the Sunday brunch at the Oriental Spoon Phuket at the Twin Palms Resort in Surin Beach includes a large buffet. I was actually amazed to see how large the buffet was and what was included on the Sunday brunch buffet at the Oriental Spoon restaurant. The Sunday brunch buffet includes for example a very wide selection of fresh seafood, Norwegian smoked salmon, oysters, variety of cheese, steaks, roasts, Crème Brulee and an absolutely outstanding chocolate fountain with fresh berries. I am convinced that the buffet will have something to please any guest.

The Oriental Spoon Phuket is also a great restaurant to visit for other meals and on other days of the week. I had a look through their regular menu and it includes a wide selection of Asian fusion dishes, fresh seafood dishes, steaks and plenty of western style dishes. The Oriental Spoon restaurant at the Twin Palms Resort is definitely not a restaurant for people on a tight budget but prices are still relatively affordable when you compare them to what some of the 5 star restaurants on the island charge. I would also like to point out that the Oriental Spoon Phuket has a wonderful selection of international wines on offer.
