For those travelers who are looking for a modern yet small resort in Patong Beach I have found a great option and that is the Mermaid Resort Phuket. After hearing so many great customer reviews about the Mermaid resort in Patong Beach I thought it was time that I should visit this relatively new Patong resort which is located along Rat U Thit 200 Pee Road.

The Mermaid Resort Phuket is definitely one of the smallest resorts in Patong beach as it only has 24 well appointed guest rooms to offer its guests. However I am definitely a big fan of small resorts such as the Mermaid Resort in Patong Beach as you generally are able to enjoy a higher level of customer service and more of a family ambiance as what you would find and get at a very large resort. The Mermaid Resort Phuket is the type of holiday resort where all the staff will remember your name, your wishes and habits. It should therefore come as absolutely no surprise that Phuket resorts such as the Mermaid Resort Phuket have so many repeat customers as travelers and tourists simply like this type of environment and style of service which is present at this small holiday resort in Patong Beach.

I would also like to point out that just because a resort such as the Mermaid Resort Phuket is a small resort that it does not mean that you won’t be able to enjoy nice facilities nor does it mean that it is in anyway a shabby place to stay. During my recent visit of the Mermaid Resort Phuket I was actually impressed by the overall design of both the exterior of this Patong holiday resort as well. The Mermaid Resort Phuket is officially rated as a 3 star resort however personally I would give it a 4 star rating.

I was given a tour of the property by one of the Thai staff of this Patong holiday resort and I was most impressed by the swimming pool area which is set in a tropical garden and the pool is surprisingly large considering the relatively small size of the Mermaid Resort in Patong Beach. However I was most impressed by the wonderful guest rooms of the Phuket Mermaid Resort. The guest rooms are rather spacious and are designed in a wonderful contemporary Thai style. Unfortunately I was unable to take any pictures of the interior of the rooms but you should have a look on the website of the Mermaid Resort Phuket so that you can see for yourself how nice the guest rooms actually are! The only thing which I can complain a bit about is the fact that the vast majority of guest rooms at this Patong holiday resort come equipped with twin beds which is not ideal for couples or even single guys who are planning to bring some overnight guests back to their room at the Mermaid Resort and Spa Phuket.

All of the 24 guest rooms are designed and furnished in the same style and come equipped with some really lovely amenities and facilities which include as follows: Air conditioning, bathroom toiletries, bathtub and shower, fully stocked mini bar, International Direct Dial telephone, international television programming, in room safe and a private balcony. Room rates for the guest rooms of the Phuket Mermaid Resort start at a reasonable 1200 Thai Baht per room per night and an extra bed is 500 Thai Baht per night. All prices include all the various taxes as well as breakfast. The room rates increases to 2600 Thai Baht during the peak season during Christmas and New Years which is also rather reasonable considering the prices which other resorts in Patong beach charge during that time of year.

There is a nice restaurant at the Mermaid Resort in Patong Beach which serves both Western and Thai cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I did have lunch there and I can vouch that both the prices and the quality of the food is great. I tried some wonderful Thai shrimp dish at the Mermaid Restaurant. As mentioned before, there is also a wonderful and rather large swimming pool at the Patong Mermaid Resort and there is a special section dedicated for children. The staff at the front desk of this Patong holiday resort can also arrange golf packages, tours, excursions and transportation for you.

The location of the Mermaid Resort in Patong beach is excellent as it’s located along the Northern section of Rat U Thit 200 Year Road. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in the direct area surrounding the resort so you don’t need to go far away for a bit to eat or a few cold Chang beers. The beach of Patong is also only a couple of minutes walk away from the Phuket Mermaid Resort and Spa.
