In the past it was rather easy to find cheap accommodation in Kata beach but prices have been increasing steadily over the last 10 years and even some of the guesthouses in Kata beach have become rather expensive which is why I am rather places to inform my readers about the Lucky Guesthouse in Kata beach. As some of you may know by now, I have been actively searching for budget accommodation such as guesthouses for those readers who are backpacking or traveling on a tight accommodation budget. Recently I drove up and down all the small streets in Kata beach which is when I discovered the Lucky Guesthouse Kata beach as you can see in the photos which have been included in this Kata beach guesthouse review.

I should warn you that if you are looking for anything fancy or modern then you should probably avoid booking a room or bungalow at the Lucky Guesthouse in Kata beach as it is probably one of the older guesthouses of Kata beach and when I first saw this guesthouse in Kata beach I could not help but feel that it was a bit dated and very low end. However if you are simply looking for the best deal in town and just need a place to crash and store your backpack then the Lucky Guesthouse Kata beach might very well be a good option for you.

During my visit to the Kata Lucky Guesthouse I did go to the reception area and tried asking the staff if it would be possible to see one or two different rooms. The English skills of the staff working at the front desk of the Lucky Guesthouse in Kata beach was rather poor but what do you expect at such as budget Kata guesthouse.

There are basically 3 types of rooms at the Lucky Guesthouse Kata Beach and they are as follows:

Double guestroom with fan and private bathroom
Double guestroom with A/C and private bathroom
Bungalow with fan and private bathroom
I must say that I was not overly impressed with the way the rooms were furnished or decorated. The furnishings seemed rather old which includes the cupboard and the bed however I must say that everything seemed very clean. Prices for the bungalow or room with fan start at only 350 Thai Baht per night during low season and increase to 600 Thai Baht during the high season. The room with air-conditioning costs around 500 Thai Baht and those rooms seem to be more recently renovated or refurbished. If you are planning to stay more than only one or two nights then I am certain that you can negotiate a special deal with the staff of the Lucky Guesthouse Kata Beach.

I did notice some of the guests and they seemed to be western backpackers and they all seemed to have a great time. There are about 60 rooms and bungalows at the Lucky Guesthouse in Kata Beach.

The location of the Lucky Guesthouse Kata beach is ideal for those who want to be in quiet surroundings yet close to many restaurants and shops. If you want to be very close to the beach of Kata then perhaps you should look for another guesthouse in Kata beach as the Lucky Guesthouse is located about a 10 minute walk away from the beach.
