Koh Lone
Koh Lone (also written as Ko Lone) or the Lone Island is the biggest of all 32 islands that surround Phuket. Located in the famous Chalong Bay, Koh Lone is an island that offers you a serene natural environment off the Phuket Island. Koh Lone has a spectacular natural beauty combining its hills, white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters around it. The island is developing faster with modern tourists’ infrastructures, facilities and amenities.
There are many organized daytrips and excursions arranged from the coast of Chalong Bay. Alternatively, one can hire a long-tail boat to reach Koh Lone within 15-20 minutes.
Koh Lone is basically inhabited by Muslim fishermen. The island is ideal for all types of sea sports including swimming, canoeing, scuba diving, snorkeling and game fishing. The island’s shores remain mostly busy with a crowd of tourists all the time. If you are looking for a solitary stay in the island you should head towards northeast where you will find the island’s most serene environment. Although bigger in size, Koh Lone offers you relatively peaceful tourist experience away from the busiest tourist spots of Phuket.
Stay in Koh Lone is quite satisfactory given its isolated location. There are already a good number of resorts and hotels and more are in the process. Koh Lone is devoid of good road communication and you shall hardly find any vehicles in the island. Koh Lone is perfect for idling around since there is not much to do within the island premises. But there are many activities in the waters surrounding Koh Lone. While you are passing a day or two in Koh Lone, you can plan visiting many other small islands that surround it. Short boat trips around the island will give you a pleasant experience.
Koh Lone is a nature-lover’s destination.
