Khao Phra Thaeo National Park
Ever thought of spending your holiday around the virgin forests, pristine waters, and wildlife creatures? If you want to know how it feels like to live in Garden of Eden, then pack your things and take a trip to Phuket Thailand’s Khai Phra Thaeo National Park. It is located at the northern part of Phuket and unfortunately, it is also the last virgin forest here in Thailand. Visitors would not only enjoy the sights offered by the Khai Phra Thaeo National Park but also the experience that they will have by doing some of the activities here.
Free animals love it here because of the giant trees as well as abundant forest vegetation. Taking a hike at the virgin forest would even let you feel like in a Hollywood studio for the movie Tarzan. You can even find rare plants including the White Back Palm which is popularly known as Pahm Lahng Kao in Thailand. There are also so many wildlife creatures that can be seen wandering around such as gibbons, monkeys, barking deers, macaques, bears, and various kinds of reptiles. If lucky, you can also get close to the bird species here in Khao Phra Thaeo National Park.
Aside from the natural magnificence mentioned before, another attraction here in Khao Phra Thaeo National Park is the stunning waterfall called Nam Tok Ton Sai which is located near the Park HQ. From here, you may opt to take any of the forest trails guided by the stewards of the park. One of the guided treks would lead you to another waterfall, the Bang Pae waterfall. Although it is quite small compared to the waterfalls of other countries, the Bang Pae waterfall is considered as the biggest waterfall in the island of Phuket. A floating restaurant is also available in the mangrove forest of the national park.
