Kathu Sai Waterfall

Kathu Sai Waterfall slips off the edge of Kao Kamala, or Kamala Mountain in the virgin rain forests of Phuket, between Phuket City and Patong, which has been designated as a national park. There has recently been some work done to develop the falls as a more mainstream tourist attraction, with steps added to make it easier to access the waterfall.

One of the best times to visit the falls is during the low tourist season running from July to December, as this is the Thai rainy season the falls have far more fast flowing water making for an exiting and invigorating excursion.

In the main tourist high season Thailand has less rain and the waterfall has less volume but never the less offers a great cooling trip into the forest and away from the bustling beaches.

Along the path and steps climbing up the waterfall you will find very scenic rest areas with places to sit enabling you to take in the splendour of the waterfall and the surrounding rain forest, you will also see lots of small pathways leading into the trees, as long as you are careful and don’t venture too far this is a pleasant side trip into the deep jungle just meters from the falls, with amazing wildlife, birds and vegetation to take in..
