Kamala is a very popular holiday destination for families, backpackers and budget travelers who are spending their vacation on Phuket. You should not think however that the guest rooms at an average Kamala guesthouse is shabby or lacks facilities as these rooms tend to be very similar to the rooms which travelers stay in at some of the more expensive Kamala Bay hotels or resorts. Guests can still enjoy a room which has air-conditioning, mini bar, satellite television and an en suite bathroom. The main reason for the price difference is because a regular Kamala guesthouse does not have to operate its own swimming pool and will have less staff.

Many travelers staying on Phuket will spend nearly every day on one of the beautiful white sandy beaches on the island and therefore are really not in need of a swimming pool of gym. So why spend all the extra money for these facilities if chances are that you won’t be using them very much. In this case it would be ideal to stay at a Kamala guesthouse and you can spend the money which you save on tours, a car rental or perhaps some good shopping.
