Joe Kools Phuket restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Karon beach. If you drive down the road from Patong beach to Karon beach then you simply can’t miss it. I remember when it just opened a few years back and I nearly fell of my motorbike when I drove past it. I will tell you the reason why I nearly had an accident. There are a few signs outside which promote the Joe Kools restaurant in Karon beach and they include signs which say the following: “World’s Worst Restaurant” and “Home of Lousy Food & Over-priced Drinks”. Obviously this is a rather unusual way to promote a newly opened restaurant on Phuket but I great appreciated this type of humor and immediately went inside with my wife to inspect this rather unusual Phuket eatery. Many people always say that marketing and advertising is misleading and how right they are as Joe Kools Phuket serves some really great food and drinks and the prices are definitely not too expensive.

The way in which Joe Kools Phuket restaurant and bar is designed is in a very American style. Once you enter it seems like you have walked into somewhat of a fancy American diner. I personally really like the casual yet hip ambiance which Joe Kools Phuket Bar and Restaurant offers its clientele.

The Joe Kools Phuket restaurant is located at the Ramada Resort Karon Beach and is located next to the beach road and diners can enjoy wonderful views of the Andaman Sea. There is an interesting story behind the owner of Joe Kools Phuket however no one is fully certain if this story is the truth or simply fabricated. Joe spend some time on Phuket and wanted to stay there however his parents stopped the money flow and forced him to return to college back home in the US. He always swore that he would one day return so that he could live on his paradise island. Anyway, after Joe Kool finished college he joined a big firm but he never forgot about Phuket. He finally got into a position that he could return to Phuket and open a business and he did so by opening Joe Kools Phuket. His goal was to create a real American style restaurant and he certainly has managed to do so. If you are looking for some American grub then Joe Kools Phuket is definitely the Phuket restaurant to visit. Joe has even gone so far as to put a 1964 Chevy in his Karon beach restaurant so as to create this authentic US ambience in his establishment.

As I mentioned before, the food at Joe Kools restaurant and bar Phuket is pretty awesome. If you are the type of guy who loves burgers, sandwiches and Chicago style pizza then Joe Kools Phuket is the place for you. The cocktail menu at this Karon restaurant is just like what you would expect state side and includes many American favorites.

There are is also plenty of entertainment available at Phuket Joe Kools including several pool tables and pin ball machines. If I am not mistaken, Joe Kools is the only place on Phuket which has pin ball machines. There is also a terrific house band which is called the Kool Band. It should not come as a surprise that they call themselves the worst band of all times.

Joe Kools Phuket also frequently organized special events and holds special promotions. There is for example a happy hour on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 17:00 until 19:00 where you get one free draught beer for every draught beer purchased. The Kool Band performs Monday through Friday from 22:00 onwards. Every Tuesday night its ladies night and ladies get real bargains and specials on drinks during ladies night at Joes Kool Phuket.
