It has been a while since a nice and new bar and grill opened its doors in Patong beach which is why I was especially pleased that Gunners Patong has recently opened to the public. There are plenty of beer bars in Patong which you can visit however after having lived on the island of Phuket for nearly a decade; I personally don’t go out very much to these types of Phuket nightlife venues. I prefer to go to clubs, pubs and hip or really nice restaurants and the new Gunners Patong can easily be fit into several of those categories. I have to admit however that the Gunners Bar and Grill in Patong beach does somewhat resemble a regular Patong beer bar as well as there are plenty of sexy Patong bar girls who work as hostesses at the Gunners Phuket bar and grill and are willing to be bar fined by guests.

When you hear the name of this Patong bar for the very first time then it is obvious that you will probably expect to find that the owner of the Gunners Patong bar and grill is a fan of the Arsenal football team as they are also known as the Gunners. However you would only be partly correct in your assumption as there is a different reason why Gunners Patong is called exactly that. The Gunners Phuket bar and grill is in fact owned by two guys with one being from Canada and the other one being from Sweden. The Swedish owner of the Gunners Patong bar and grill is called Gunnar and the nick name of the Canadian owner is Gunner which is why they came up with the name Gunners Patong Bar and Grill. They do however both support the Arsenal football team as well!

The Phuket Gunners Bar and Grill does however offer more than only sexy Thai ladies as it also has become one of the most popular sport bars of Patong beach. There are 3 large TV screens at the Gunners Patong bar and grill and they show a large variety of different live sporting events including some which can normally not be found at any of the other sport bars in Patong beach.

Some of the other activities which guests can enjoy at the Patong Gunners Bar and Grill include playing a game of pool or playing a round of darts. There are frequently competitions organized at the Gunners Patong so if you would like to play some darts or pool in a competition setting then be sure to ask the staff of the Gunners Phuket sports bar about upcoming competitions.

In case you enjoy having a bite to eat with your beer then please note that the Gunners Patong will start offering food shortly. They are currently redoing the kitchen area and hiring cooks and I am looking forward to having another restaurant on Nanai road which I can visit.

Gunners Patong is located in the Nanai road area of Patong beach which is home to several popular bars including for example the Patong Offshore Bar. Nanai road is primarily an area which is popular with Patong expats as many live in one of the buildings or houses along this busy Patong road. There are however a number of guesthouses and hotels as well along Nanai road so you will also find tourists visiting the bars and restaurants along Nanai road. If you are staying elsewhere in Patong then I would definitely recommend for you to take your scooter and drive up and down Nanai road as there are plenty of great venues to visit including of course the outstanding Gunners Patong bar and grill.
