As with many of the Patong guesthouses which have been reviewed by us the Golden Buddha Patong guesthouse is also situated in the Nanai road area of Patong. Although Nanai road is not very close to Bangla road or the beach area of Patong, it is certainly a very lively area and prices tend to be cheaper at the various shops, restaurants, hotels, bars and guesthouses when compared to some of the other major areas of Patong beach. If you are looking for affordable holiday accommodation and are not really bothered about staying too close to the beach then I would definitely recommend the area of Patong beach in which the Golden Buddha Patong beach guesthouse is situated. You could walk down from the Golden Buddha Guesthouse in Patong to the central areas of Patong such as the Patong beach road, Jungceylon shopping mall and Bangla road however it would probably take you at least 15 minutes or so. I therefore strongly recommend for you to rent a scooter or perhaps even a jeep if you are staying at the Golden Buddha Patong guesthouse or one of the other Patong hotels or guesthouses which are located in the Nanai road area of Patong beach.
One of the things which I found less appealing about the Golden Buddha Guesthouse and Coffee shop in Patong beach is that it is located in an old shop house which definitely needs a coat of paint. It doesn’t have to cost much to make the exterior of a building look appealing and welcoming so it is a shame that the owner or manager of the Golden Buddha Patong beach guesthouse has not paid any attention or funds on fixing up the exterior of this Nanai guesthouse as this is the first impression which a traveler or tourist will have of their guesthouse in Patong beach.
However I must say that the staff of the Golden Buddha Guesthouse was very hospitable and they made you feel right at home. I did manage to speak to one or two clients who were staying at this Patong beach guesthouse and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves at the Golden Buddha Patong guesthouse.
Unfortunately the interior of the Golden Buddha Patong beach guesthouse is not that much better as the interior as it all looks rather plain and simple. If you are just looking for a place to crash at night then I guess that you wouldn’t mind too much however when you consider the other alternatives along Nanai road then I simply could not recommend the Golden Buddha guesthouse and coffeeshop to anyone especially when you look at the room rates which they charge. For the amount which the Golden Buddha Patong guesthouse charges you can also get a room at a nice design boutique guesthouse in Patong beach.
The guest rooms of the Golden Buddha Patong Guesthouse are clean, spacious and comfortable but also lack any real type of interior design. There are different types of guest rooms from which you can choose when making a booking at this Patong beach guesthouse and these room types are the double rooms, standard rooms and deluxe rooms. Although the rooms look a bit plain to me, I would like to mention that they are equipped with modern amenities and facilities such as air-conditioning, free wireless internet access, international television programming, DVD / CD player and a private balcony.
The coffee shop and bar of the Golden Buddha Patong guesthouse is located on the ground floor and I must say that they have a nice menu filled with many popular western dishes such as Kebabs, burgers and outstanding sandwiches.
