Emerald Beach

Emerald Beach and its attractions

Emerald Beach is a heaven for all those who love the sun and love getting a good tan in the sun. It is a 55 meter long beach full of sun beds and normally anyone who goes to Merlin Beach goes there also. There is not much shade available on the beach except near the restaurant. The vegetation here is purely rough grasses and hinter beach type.

The Emerald Beach is situated on the south western side of Patong and one can reach there either by turning left at the Amari Coral Beach Resort or going up to Merlin Resort and parking there and then just walking down.

Some of the facilities available at this beach include a one hour beach massage for 400 baht, para sailing for 1200 baht and operating the Jet-ski for 1500 baht per hour. Other attractions include snorkeling which can be done for 300 baht per hour and exploring the surroundings on a sea kayak for 400 baht.

The restaurant located on the Emerald Resort is called the Windsulf. It is very beautiful in appearance and serves equally tasty Thai and European food. There is one more restaurant present at the end of the resort which also serves both Thai as well as international food.

Activities like swimming or diving are not possible very easily here as the beach is rocky and the water is also not deep. For swimming one can go to the end of the beach near Patong. But other games like volleyball can be definitely enjoyed here also.

As such there are no hotels present directly on the beach, but the ones close to it are the Tri Trang Resort, Merlin Beach Resort and Baan Yin Dee.
The Emerald Beach is a quite place with not many visitors and the vendors are also not very troublesome there..
