Coral Island Location
Coral island is located just south of Phuket and is located only about a fifteen minute speed boat ride from Chalong pier. You can also rent a long tail boat or a speed boat from Rawai if you prefer. Most of the tourists that spend the day on the Phuket Coral Island however book a special tour package from their Phuket hotel or travel agent. The cost of such a day tour to Coral Island normally costs around a thousand Thai Baht which would include the transfer to and from the Chalong Pier, the speed boat ride to Coral Island, snorkeling equipment and a lunch at a Coral Island beach restaurant.
Coral Island consists of two main beaches. These two Phuket Coral Island beaches are Banana beach and Long beach.
Coral Island Activities
Most of the Coral Island activities which visitors will encounter involve either the beach or the sea. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of water sport activities which include diving, snorkeling, banana boats, jet ski and parasailing. If you are interested in doing a dive course then you can head over to the dive school at the popular Coral Island Resort.
Coral Island Restaurants
There are plenty of lovely Coral Island restaurants to choose from at both the Banana beach as well as the Long beach of Coral Island. Most of the excellent food served at these Coral Island restaurants is Thai food and fresh Seafood. You can also find some basic western dishes at these wonderful Coral Island restaurants.
Coral Island Resort
There is in fact only one Coral Island hotel. The Coral Island Resort consists of forty four bungalows and several of them are located directly on the Coral Island beach. Most tourists staying at the Coral Island Resort only spend a couple of days there. We do not recommend for travelers to spend more then that on Coral Island as chances are that you will get bored due to the lack of activities and the relatively small size of Coral Island.
