Capri Residence Patong
My first impression of the Capri Residence Patong guesthouse was that the exterior looked very similar to that of the average guesthouse which can be found all along Nanai road. The Capri Residence Phuket is located in a typical Thai style shop house which is a type of building which can be found all over Patong. The entrance of this Patong beach guesthouse is a simple glass door and nothing really as special as the entrance of some of the nicer boutique guesthouses in Patong beach such as the Bird’s cage guesthouse. However I have learned over the years living on Phuket that I should never judge a book by its covers as I have visited some guesthouses which looked very plain from the outside but looked completely different after entering the property.
Although the entrance of the Capri Residence Guesthouse in Patong beach was nothing special, as soon as I entered this guesthouse along Nanai road I was given a warm welcome by the Thai staff working at the front desk. I believe that this is very important as the way the staff of a hotel or guesthouse greet their guests is one of the first impressions which a traveler or tourist have of a holiday property. I was also greeted by the Italian owner of the Patong Capri Residence and he was extremely friendly and helpful. He was more than happy to take me for a tour of the Capri Residence along with his lovely Thai partner. Generally I have found that the success of a guesthouse in Patong depends a great deal on the owner and whether the owner is actively involved with the day to day operations of the guesthouse. This is due to the fact that an owner is more eager to please his customers and offer a high level of service then a regular manager of staff member would.
The Capri Residence Guesthouse in Patong is not some type of trendy and hip boutique style guesthouse. You can actually tell that the owner of the Capri Residence Patong guesthouse is Italian by the way he has designed and decorated it. It almost feels as if you have walked into somebody’s home as there are Persian carpets on the floors of the lobby as well as in the guest rooms. I personally don’t really fancy the way the Capri Residence guesthouse is decorated however I can imagine that many other travelers and tourists would feel right at home at this guesthouse in Patong beach.
The guest rooms of the Capri Residence Guesthouse are designed and decorated in a similar style as can be found in the public areas of this Patong budget hotel. The rooms do all offer a nice balcony and offer such modern facilities such as internet access, international television programming and some of the larger rooms even come with a kitchenette. The Capri Residence Guesthouse in Patong beach offer two types of rooms to travelers and tourists and they are standard rooms and deluxe rooms. Room rates start at 700 Thai Baht per room per night during the tourist low season and prices during the high season start at around 1000 Thai Baht per room per night.
The Capri Residence Guesthouse is located along the southern section of Nanai road and this particular section of Nanai road is well known for its outstanding selection of affordable farang bars and restaurants. If you are interested in walking down to the white sandy beach of Patong then please note that it should take around 15 minutes.
