Bang Pae Waterfall
Bang Pae is Phuket's biggest waterfall can be found at the center of Phuket Island on Khao Phra Thaeo Mountain. Although it is, just a few minutes walk to the car parking area it has the feel of being deep inside the glorious rainforest. When you reach the base of the falls the first thing you will see is an inviting pool which just cries out to you to take a cool and refreshing dip before climbing higher up the falls.
It is also possible to travel to the waterfall on elephant, the forest in this area is home to mouse deer, bears, langurs, monkeys, barking deer, mouse deer, bears, wild boar, and many more exotic creatures as well as the towering forest tress and ample tropical flora and fauna.
There is also the added attraction of the Phuket Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre run by an international animal charity. Here you will be able to meet adopted gibbons who are cared for and nurtured until they are able to be released back into the wild, last admissions of the day are at 4pm. Outside of the centre there are plenty of places to find a good, cheap Thai meal.
