I always proud myself of knowing all the hotels and resorts in Patong beach which I was rather surprised when a friend told me that he would be spending his vacation in Patong at the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort. I presumed it was a new resort in Patong which is why I had not yet heard of it or seen it. I soon discovered that it was a relatively new mountain side resort which overlooks Patong beach and the Andaman Sea and is actually located in a part of Patong which I don’t frequently visit which partly explains why I had never seen or heard of the Baan Rai Rum Yen hotel before. I am rather pleased that I did have the opportunity to go to the Baan Rai Run Yen resort as I was very much impressed with the property and I will definitely be recommending this Patong mountainside resort to fellow travelers and tourists in the future. I would also like to point out at this time that the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort is more than a resort or hotel alone as it actually offers 1 and 2 bedroom apartments to not only travelers and tourists but also to expats. So if you are looking for a well appointed apartment in Patong then please be sure to visit the Baan Rai Rum Yen so that you can see if it is perhaps the place in Patong beach where you would want to live for an extended period of time.

However it is not only expats and local Thai residents that are interested in renting an apartment at the Baan Rai Rum Yen as there are also plenty of tourists and travelers who prefer to rent a Patong holiday apartment as opposed to renting a regular room in a normal Patong hotel or resort. There are various benefits in renting an apartment and these include for example that you can house an entire family in one of the larger apartments and that guests can cook in the kitchenette of their apartment which some travelers prefer versus having to go to a restaurant 3 times a day.

One of the nice things about the Baan Rai Rum Yen hotel in Patong is that they also offer some really outstanding facilities and services to its guests. Needless to say there is a wonderful outdoor swimming pool at the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort but what I really like about the pool area is that it is set in a lush tropical garden setting and is filled by many exotic flowers and trees. Also in the pool area of the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort in Patong beach is a very large and clean steam sauna which is not something you will find at the majority of hotels and resorts on Phuket Island. Another excellent and very popular facility of the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort is its modern and state of the art fitness center which includes the latest exercise machines.

One facility offered by the Baan Rai Rum Yen hotel to its guests and outside visitors is the fishing park which to my knowledge is unique on Phuket. Although there are several Phuket fishing parks, I don’t know of any which are part of a Phuket hotel or resort. Guests staying at the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort can fish for free and outside visitors can fish at the fishing park for only 150 Thai Baht per person per day. Please note that there is an additional charge in case you want to keep your catch. The fishing park at the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort is open daily from 10:00 until 21:00. You can also decide to have your fish cooked for you at the restaurant f the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort. This restaurant also offers many popular Thai and Western style dishes and at very affordable prices. Please note that there are also two full sized American pool tables for your entertainment.

The Baan Rai Rum Yen resort in Patong beach offers two different types of apartments and these are 1 bedroom studio apartments and 2 bedroom apartments. Some of the amenities and facilities found in all of the apartments include a fully stocked kitchenette, free WIFI internet, balcony with table and chairs, in room safe and international television programming. A studio apartment with kitchenette starts at around 800 Thai Baht per apartment per night, 5500 Thai Baht per apartment per week or 25000 Thai Baht per apartment per month.

The Baan Rai Rum Yen Resort is located along the 50 Year Road which is the highest road located on the hill overlooking Patong beach. This area of Patong is still relatively undeveloped and consists mainly of high end real estate objects. Please note that there are not a great deal of bars, shops and restaurants located along this road. Although you could walk down to the beach and the rest of town, it would be a very long walk and I would recommend for you to have your own form of transportation if you were to stay at the Baan Rai Rum Yen resort.
