Ao Yan beach is another beach which is located on the East coast of Phuket and which is popular with mostly Thai visitors. Ao Yon beach actually consists of two beaches which are Ao Yon Noi and Ao Yon Noi. These two Phuket beaches are separated by a rocky headland. If you visit the smaller Ao Yon beach then you can also find a big shrimp farm there which could be worth visiting. If you visit the Phuket Ao Yon beach then you can also enjoy some rather stunning views of Lone Island and the bay of Chalong.

Ao Yon beach gets especially busy during the weekend and Thai public holidays as local Thai residents enjoy spending the day at this wonderful Phuket beach. You will find many local people enjoying a picnic below the trees at Ao Yon beach.

Ao Yon Beach Location

Ao Yon beach is located on the East coast of Phuket and is located in the southern section of Phuket Island in the Cape Panwa area. If you would like to visit Ao Yon beach and witness how Thai people enjoy a day at the beach then you should head over to Cape Panwa.

Please see our map of Phuket for instruction on how to get to the Cape Panwa area of Phuket. Once you get to Cape Panwa then you should simply follow a sign which says Tripetch farm which is the shrimp farm at the smaller of the two Ao Yon beaches. This road will lead you directly to the Ao Yon beach area. If you would like to visit Ao Yon beach Yai as well then just follow the coastal road. There is a large parking area where you can safely park your car or motorbike.

Ao Yon Beach Activities

Like with most Phuket beaches, which are popular with local Thai residents, you will not find a lot of activities at Ao Yon beach. Ao Yon beach is the ideal place for a picnic with your family though and you can go swimming at Ao Yon beach although the water is not ideal for snorkeling. Another popular activity at the Phuket Ao Yon beach is sailing and yachting as Ao Yon beach is home to the well known and ever so popular Phuket Yacht Club. If you would like to take a boat ride in a traditional Thai longtail boat then you can also find some for rent at Ao Yon beach.

Ao Yon Beach Restaurants

There are no real restaurants at Ao Yan beach in Phuket. There are some small food stands where you can purchase some basic Thai food, snacks and cold drinks. There are also often local food vendors at Ao Yon beach which sell food from a side cart of their motorbike. Another dining option in the Ao Yon beach is a small pizza place which is located on the hill overlooking Ao Yon beach.

Ao Yon Beach Hotels

There are no Phuket hotels, resorts or other accommodation options located directly at one of the two Ao Yon beaches.
