Nai Thon Beach
Exploring Nai Thon Beach
Nai Thon Beach is a beautiful stretch of sand that is almost undeveloped and untouched. Thus it is an ideal location to get away from the crowd of tourists and enjoy a quiet swim. It is a sleepy village of resorts, restaurants, bars and diving shop that lines the beach road. Even with the arrival of Naithonburi Beach Resort, the whole beach is never crowded with a lot of space between the rows of sunbeds along the beach line.
A new development is underway the beach property – with the construction “Pearl of Nai Thon” luxury apartments, this can help spread the word about the virgin island. Even with this development, Nai Thon remains to be laid-back and old-fashioned, in fact, the beach does not have an ATM machine. One bank is seeing the potential though and is planning to install one in the near future.
The journey to Nai Thon Beach is almost as enjoyable as the beach itself. On the southern approach to the beach, the narrow road leads through the island's last remaining virgin jungle. Also, the winds along the coastline rivals that of Cote d'Azur with its brilliant and inspiring beauty. When driving from the north to Nai Thon, the road takes you through an interesting peek of the village then into a thick, lush green valley before reaching the destination.
Activities to be enjoyed by the visitors while staying here include scuba diving and exploring rocky coves which can be arranged through the dive shop on the Beach Road. Sheltered from the big waves and wind, it is a relaxing and peaceful place. Many locals use this beach for family get-together and picnics.
One can chill and buy fresh drinks from the beach vendors who offer tropical delights in the shaded area of the mammoth trees. A conducive place for a romantic and quiet stay..
