Laem Ka Beach

Laem Ka – Your private beach in Phuket!

Amongst the beaches of Phuket, you possibly never heard of Laem Ka Beach. Quite natural! Laem Ka is a lonely beach not visited by many tourists. Located between Chalong and Rawai to the north-east of Rawai Beach, Laem Ka is a very quiet place to relax at. It is the only beach in South Phuket that faces east. Laem Ka beach offers excellent view of the sea and the offshore islands. The beach overlooks the islands of Koh Bon, Koh Lone and Koh He. Amidst the shadows of the coconut trees and a four hundred meters stretch of the beach you will find quiet, shady and serene environment where you can truly relax.

To reach Laem Ka Beach you need to head towards Rawai in the South Phuket. As you find the temple gates on your way look for a small road next to a 7-Eleven. Follow this road till you cross a checkpoint and a kilometer long coconut plantation. After the coconut plantation you will find a road at your right heading straight to the car park of Laem Ka Beach.

Laem Ka is a safe-swimming beach with somewhat private and family atmosphere. The shady beach is truly ideal for family picnics. Although you can’t expect much facilities and amenities in and around, there is a small shop that sells sweets and drinks through November to May. In the north you will find Evason Resort & Spa (your close-by accommodation option) where beach masseuses and long-tail boats are available to hire.

Naturally at this isolated beach your eating options are not many. A medium sized restaurant (remaining open only in busy season) with showering and bathroom facilities sits on the beach. You may have a limited range of seafood available there. For a better range of foods, you need to walk up to the 7-Eleven.

If you like tranquility and privacy away from the meddling crowd of popular beaches take a ride to Laem Ka Beach. You’ll like it, guaranteed!
